Comprehensive Physical Examination
An unhurried, head-to-toe evaluation that takes the time to understand your full health story.
A comprehensive physical examination is the foundation of preventive care — an unhurried, head-to-toe evaluation of your overall health, medical history, and personal goals. In our preventive medicine practice in Los Angeles, this visit is where we get to know you and build a plan tailored to your life.
What to Expect During Your Comprehensive Physical
Your visit begins with a detailed conversation about your medical history, family history, lifestyle, and any concerns you've been carrying. We then review your blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and other vitals before a careful head-to-toe physical examination.
Depending on your age, history, and risk factors, we may recommend additional evaluation shortly after — such as an EKG, baseline lab work, or age-appropriate cancer screening coordination. Everything is explained as we go, so you always understand the why behind each step.
How to Prepare for Your Visit
A little preparation helps us make the most of your time together. Bring a current list of your medications and supplements, and jot down any symptoms, questions, or goals you'd like to discuss.
If we plan to draw cholesterol or blood sugar labs, you may be asked to fast beforehand — we'll let you know in advance. Wearing comfortable, easy-to-adjust clothing also makes the exam more relaxed.
After Your Visit
After your exam, we review your findings together and outline clear next steps — whether that's lifestyle guidance, follow-up testing, or ongoing chronic disease management. Lab and imaging results are shared with you directly, with plenty of time for questions.
If something warrants a specialist, we coordinate a referral, often with colleagues including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and stay involved to keep your care connected.
